Use the Internet to Learn Business Skills Online

“Never stop learning” has been quoted throughout generations, and with the technology in today’s world it is easier to do this than it has ever been.  The internet allows us to have a world of knowledge right at our fingertips.  All we have to do is discern what is worth our time, and then reach out and seize it.

This can be very profitable for business owners, as the internet is full of ways to learn more about business, running a business, and sharpening the skills needed to be an effective business owner.  Whether that means better employee management skills or learning the new accounting software, you can likely find it online.

Online Courses

Online courses come in many different formats.  It may be a webinar, a slide show, or a combination.  Generally, these are professional, offered by some accrediting agency, and in the end there is some sort of recognition of the course being completed in the form a certificate or other acknowledgement.  While they are usually associated with a cost, the payoff is they can be considered toward continuing education credit or licensing requirements when appropriate.

Videos

Another option is to watch instructional videos.  These are most often found on YouTube, and typically they are free.  They can be found for virtually anything you want to learn, from software to repair, cooking, cleaning, and even card tricks.  While they are generally free, they are rarely certified.  Since anyone can make one, be prudent in making certain you are watching someone who actually knows what they are doing.  You may not be able to get official credit for this type of learning, but you can gain the knowledge and skills just them same, and at little or no cost.

EBooks and Blogs

Many tutorial style eBooks and blogs exist that offer learning in all types of skills.  While some blogs do charge for courses, and most eBooks are associated with some cost, it is generally less than an official course, and sometimes just as effective. Combining a video with one or more blogs or eBooks on a particular subject could result in a well-balanced learning experience, depending on the quality of your sources.
